The new JX 3 speed is a little power house of a reel, despite being compact it comes with the larger power handle as well as a low gear all the way in the 1.9:1 range which is unheard of in a reel of this class. This will make an excellent speed jigging reel, or even a heavy yoyo iron setup for big yellowtail. The narrow size is nice for leveling the line compared to the JX so it will be a more comfortable reel to fish with for a lot of applications.
The new gear ratio added is a low 2:1 which gives a ton of cranking power for when you’re targeting 150lb bluefin fishing live bait. With all that these reels are still only 24oz, most of the weight coming from the handle which is a worthy upgrade.
